Wedding Banquet Corner at Swissotel Merchant Court

We saw this nicely decorated wedding corner at Swissotel Merchant Court near the ballroom and it showcases the wedding banquet table setup:

Feng Shui Inn at Resort Word Sentosa

Feng Shui Inn is located at Resort World Sentosa, Crockfords Tower.  They serve fine cantonese cusine and the restaurant has a nice ambience.  Supper is served late and the last order is 3.30am.
Interestingly, many of the servers are dressed in chinese period costume with head dress, those that you see from period dramas.

We had dinner there on one of the weekends after visiting the SEA aquarium.

Seoul Yummy

We had dinner at Seoul Yummy Korean restaurant at Bugis.  There are combo sets where there is flexibility of mixing and matching mains and sides for a reasonable price.
For a combo set for 1 person, you could choose your mains (Ramen, Udon, Bibimbab) and there are different variety of sides to choose from (Salmon, Spicy chicken, chicken wings, beef slices etc).

There are also combo for 2 where there are choices of appetisers and seafood or meat, soup, rice and desert.  There is also the army stew combo which comes with appetisers, army stew and desert.

Your choice of sides, we had the salmon and beef slices

For mains I had the korean rice cake noodle, it was spicy and I think the Bibimbab could have been a safer choice.

Ellenborough Market Cafe Buffet at Swissotel Merchant court

We had a enjoyable weekend buffet dinner at Ellenborough Market Cafe Buffet at Swissotel Merchant court.  It was packed on a weekend mainly with families.  You can choose to dine at the indoor air con area or the outdoor area.

The black pepper slipper lobster was fresh and tasty, it was "disappearing" fast but was also replenished at the buffet area quickly.  There was a herbal pork soup that tasted like Bak Kut Teh.  The cold food includes prawn, crab and mussels.  Salmon sashimi was abundant at the buffet table.  There was also fatty pork belly and deep fried food.

There were a number varieties of desert, cakes, "ma chee" and also the sweet "soupy" deserts.
A must try is the durian pengat.  Make your reservations early for weekend buffets or you might need to dine at the outdoor area.

Momoya Japanese Buffet

Momoya is located at the shophouse at Jalan Pari Burong, near upper Changi and Bedok.  It is one of the nicer Japanese Buffet in the east but parking lots along the street are limited.  We went for a gathering on a Saturday and the restaurant was packed with families and groups of friends.

They have various varieties from deep fried to grilled dish to sashimi to ramen to rice bowls to handrolls and sushi to Tempura to miso soup.

We had the Chicken Karaage, grilled mushroom, Inari, teriyaki salmon, salmon sashimi, cutlet, deep fried prawn, beef rice bowl, tempura, Chawanmushi, Kimchi ramen and more.

The waiting time for food to be served was short.  Price wise was reasonable at $32++ for a weekend Japanese buffet.

Ah Yat restaurant at Grand Pacific hotel dim sum lunch

Ah Yat abalone forum restaurant at Grand Pacific hotel near City hall mrt serves a la carte dim sum for lunch and from mon to sat, diners get a 30% off dim sum lunch.  At other Ah Yat branches at Jurong or Turf City, we saw there is a promo for 40% off dim sum lunch.

You will order the dim sum by ticking your selected items on the dim sum paper menu and hand it over to the server.

We had the Turnip cake, you can have it steam or pan fried.

The steam glutinous rice w/ abalone is not bad, has bits of abalone wrapped in it.

The steam pork ribs

The steam BBQ pork bun

We had the Shanghai steam dumpling (Xiao long bao),  the skin is rather thick and dry.

We tried a few other dim sum dishes as well, most were the average dim sum fare, there are 1 or 2 that is not bad but I would not recommend ordering the Xiao long bao and beef ball (the beef ball had a "funny" taste, not quite the usual beef ball).
